As part of our vision for a sustainable, local food system, we are offering Meat and Egg CSA shares on an annual basis. A major step in taking charge of a steady, healthy, food supply for your family starts with some thought and planning in advance of the time to purchase. From a farmers point of view, it will be very helpful to know on a yearly basis how many and what type of livestock need to be raised to satisfy our customers needs. From the customers point of view, there should be considerable peace of mind in knowing that you have secured a safe and delicious food source for your family. At the same time, you are supporting a local farm family and keeping your money circulating within the community.
Our hogs are fed grain, but do live outdoors with dirt under their feet, with the opportunity to express their unique characteristics of being pigs. They thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to root in the soft dirt, or to put their nose in a water puddle and blow bubbles. That’s just what they like to do.
We do not use any petroleum based pesticides or fertilizers on our pastures. We believe that healthy people, and healthy animals start with healthy plants and a healthy, biologically active, soil community.
We do not sell any meat that we would not feed to our own children.

12 Chickens = 1 per month $ 180.00
24 Dozen eggs = 1 every delivery $ 85.00

COST: $1275 Annual
This is 24 deliveries, 2 per month. The planned distribution of meat should fit in the freezer of an average refrigerator.
$650 Half Share = Available in 12 deliveries
YOUR COMMITMENT: We do not have any scheduled work days planned for the members at this time, but would welcome visits as often as possible. We are asking the members to take an active role in the delivery system, by requiring them to pick-up the shares at the farm and deliver them to the Kansas City drop off points, once a year. This saves us the cost of delivery as well as assures some contact with your family’s farmers.
DELIVERY: We currently have a centralized drop off on the 1st and 3rd Sat. morning of each month. The locations are in Overland Park, The Plaza area, Liberty and North Kansas City. As the need arises we will be glad to add more locations to accommodate the growing membership.
PAYMENTS: $100.00 Deposit = To reserve share
$200.00 due monthly until paid off
